Rex was brought to Greenbrier Humane Society in mid-August of 2019. He was painfully shy, so shy that our techs would have to go into his kennel, scoop him up, and carry him outside to potty and play. They would have to repeat the scoop and carry to get him back in! He never showed a bit of aggression, just intense fear and distrust. After several weeks of our animal care team members and techs working to bring him out of his shell, it became obvious that Rex would need a lit tle more TLC than we could provide him here. Enter his amazing foster mom, Ashleigh. Ashleigh took Rex home at the end of September and has worked tirelessly with him to address his issues. He has come leaps and bounds in the time he has spent with her! Although Rex has made such amazing improvements, he still has a long way to go. He will need a home where he will be shown lots of patience and given the time he needs to acclimate. He is still shy and he never quite warmed up to his foster dad which means he may be better suited for a female adopter. Rex thrives when he is with at least one other dog, so that will be a requirement for his adoption.
